Leadership Camp

Where?  Grace Adventures (on Silver Lake)

Why? Because we want you to have the best possible theatre program you can make together.

The goal of Leadership Camp is to help Thespians become dynamic leaders who inspire and guide their troupes, schools, and communities.  Over the course of 3 days/2 nights, students will take workshops and network with peers.  Workshops will be taught by an assortment of guests as well as student leaders.  Directors will be able to set goals with their own school as well as share ideas and network with other teachers and theatre organizations.

Leadership Camp is open to any school. The director must attend camp in order for any students to attend.  There is no limit to how many students can attend from a school.

In addition to leadership activities and workshops, student can also join the The Playwright Academy.  The Academy is intended to help students discover and develop their playwriting skills.  This is a limited event, so there is a maximum of 3 students per school that can partake in this area.  In addition to working on playwriting at Leadership Camp, students will also be able to continue with an additional free workshop session later in the fall to continue to develop their skills.

All students will arrive at 5PM on Friday and will depart at 10AM Sunday.

One student from each school attending camp will also be eligible to run for a position as a State Thespian Officer, provided they served on the Student State Board at the Thespian Festival in the previous year.

Cost:

*Costs include lodging for two nights, food, facilities and workshops

  • $85.00 per Student,
  • One free Director
  • One free chaperone per 5 paying attendees
  • $50.00 for any additional Director/Advisor/Chaperone

Food:

Meals will be provided:  Friday’s dinner, Saturday’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday’s breakfast

-Each students should give their money to their director, who will pay for the group in one lump sum
-Payment Options from schools:  One Check, One Money Order or pay by Credit Card
