State Board

There are 4 types of Board Membership.

Students (2 types):

  1.  Student State Board:  each school attending Festival may select up to 3 student to represent their troupe by assisting at The Michigan Thespian Festival.  (Click here for requirements).
  2. State Thespian Officer (STO):  Students that served on the State Board for at least one year may apply to be selected through an interview process.  These students serve as decision makers and leaders in a variety of capacities and events through the course of the year.  Active members can not miss more than 1 meeting.  If a school has a student selected as an STO they can only have up to 4 other students serve on the Student State Board.

Adults (2 types):

  1. Adult Board:  any adult serving as an active troupe director can join the Adult Board.  Board members are expected to actively participate in META events and attend board meeting/functions.  Active members can not miss more than 2 meetings in a calendar year.  Board members enjoy the benefits of B&O insurance and incentives to attend EdTA events.
  2. Governing Board:  active Adult Board members are elected to establish policies, guidance and provide leadership to the organization.
